Back when I was knee high, I loved the pop-up books where you turned the pages of the book based on your choices. Should Sam go left or right? Right p. 15 Left .17 etc. In today’s modern age choosing a time stamp would just be a pain. However, if a podcast was made in conjunction with a Facebook group or Instagram’s poll or question sticker a creative person could potentially make a very unique and interactive podcast. Just think of it;
“The Ship is under attack, should the captain: A. rally the troops and attack? or B. Surrender and save his family?”
The legendary stories of War of the Worlds always come back to me when I think of a new podcast to revolutionize the industry. If someone was creative enough to take the news or another trusted source of information and create a spoof show detailing a reporter oriented story could really shake things up. I know there are many high profile shows who have taken unique perspectives on voice and narration, some have even done the reporter’s perspective, but mixing it with reality would be the combination that could cause this type of show to spin out of control.
Youtube and blogging was built on the back of ‘Top 10’ lists. Yet somehow the podcasting world has forgotten Dave Letterman. This is terrible. Somehow we are reading Reddit Stories ver badum, yet we cannot collect a read list of the top ten scariest places on earth? Matt Santoro would be disappointed. (Yes I know he has a show and it needs help)
What is more interesting than the stories of Homeless War Vets and Aspiring gay painters? Nothing. Yet getting out on the street and out of your comfort zone can be hard for people who live behind the microphone. The only trick with this podcast would be the high frequency and accompanying content strategy. You would have to post these interviews every day. Not just for every week or every so often, but every day with a unique picture and website. If this was done correctly and in an inspiring way, you could make a ground-shaking podcast in under a year.
At LaunchPod we love sneakers. In fact, our first paycheck one of the three co-founders spent all his money and bought us matching Jordans. It was a bond that made us feel like we finally made it. Yet as podcast nerds, Nike, Adidas, and Supreme has missed the bus. StockX and Goat need to jump on this. We have done all the research, and SEO, competition, and even market analysis on this topic, and it is so open! I mean really, Age of Culture is going to completely take over if someone doesn’t start playing in this sandbox!
There are tons of content types that need to be covered and with the amount of research that we do, as a data-driven agency is just crazy. Take a look at what our INITIAL test batch looks like via the slide deck below to see what we can do. Also, sneak a peek at out use studies to see why we are the #1 Podcasts Analytics agency. We will continue to make more posts like this as we see more gaps in the podcasting market. It’s a great time to be a podcaster.
